My thirteen-year-old son sold his prized electric guitar to buy a specialized wheelchair for a girl in his class… but early the next morning, two armed police officers showed up at our front door. And what they revealed left me completely paralyzed.

He approached Julian with an expression I couldn’t quite read.

“Julian Vance?”

My son nodded.

“Yes, sir.”

Nathan looked at him for a long moment.

Then he extended his hand.

“I’ve been hoping to meet you properly.”

Julian shook it nervously.

“Did something happen to Maya?”

Nathan smiled.

“Something wonderful happened to Maya.”

He explained that he’d returned home from a long shift the previous evening and found his daughter moving happily through their kitchen in her new wheelchair.

At first, he hadn’t understood where it came from.

Then Jillian told him everything.

“She explained that a thirteen-year-old boy had sold his favorite guitar, emptied his savings, and given up his gaming console so my daughter could have the equipment she needed.”

Julian’s cheeks turned red.

“I just wanted to help.”

Nathan nodded.

“I know you did.”

His voice grew emotional.

“That’s what makes it so special.”

He explained that Maya had tried to avoid worrying her parents about the problems with her old chair.
