My Husband’s Other Woman Came To My Door And Said She Needed My House For Their Baby

He reached toward me.

“Please. We can talk.”

“We are talking.”

“I can explain.”

“You’ve had months to be honest with me.”

His eyes filled.

For years, I might have comforted him.

That morning, I didn’t.

I was finished taking responsibility for feelings created by choices I hadn’t made.

The final conversation

Rachel reappeared in the doorway.

Apparently, she’d been waiting outside.

“Tyler, are we leaving or not?”

He looked toward her.

“Just tell me the truth about the baby.”

Rachel’s expression tightened.

“I’ve already told you.”

“Then why won’t you answer a straightforward question?”

She shook her head.

“This is unbelievable.”

I stood.

“Both of you need to leave now.”

Tyler looked at me.

“Debra…”

“No more arguments.”

Margaret rose beside me.

Rachel collected her handbag and walked out.

Tyler remained seated for another moment.

Then he slowly stood.

At the doorway, he turned back.

“I never thought we’d end up like this.”
