My Husband’s Other Woman Came To My Door And Said She Needed My House For Their Baby

I continued.

“You weren’t simply having an affair. You were planning to move another woman into my home.”

He looked up.

“I thought we could work something out.”

“Without asking me?”

He said nothing.

I reached for the property folder.

“This house was purchased with Dad’s inheritance. The deed is in my name.”

Tyler stared at the documents.

Margaret added, “We’ve arranged for Debra to obtain independent legal advice about the property and the divorce.”

His face changed.

“Divorce?”

I nodded.

“Yes.”

He looked stunned.

“Eighteen years, Debra. You’re really going to end eighteen years?”

I felt the sadness of those words.

There had been happy times.

Two beautiful children.

Vacations.

Anniversaries.

Countless ordinary mornings around this kitchen table.

I wouldn’t pretend those memories meant nothing.

But I also couldn’t pretend that the last year hadn’t happened.

“Tyler,” I replied, “you made decisions that changed our marriage. I’m deciding how to move forward.”
