He was my father.
He was sitting on a bench, holding his cap with both hands.
-Dad?
He looked up, surprised.
— Sara? What are you doing here?
I ran towards him.
—What am I doing here? I've been calling you all morning! Why weren't you answering?
He seemed embarrassed.
—My phone battery died. I was waiting for a doctor.
—Which doctor?
He did not respond.
I felt the rage growing inside me.
—Dad, did you know something was wrong with me?
His expression changed.
-That?
"Last night you wouldn't stop talking about my health! You said something unexpected might happen. And now my blood tests have come back abnormal!"
He got up slowly.
—Sarah, honey, I had no idea.
—So why were you behaving so strangely?
Before he could answer, Dr. Wilson appeared.
—Sarah, we have the results of your second blood test. Please come in.
My father started following us, but the doctor looked at me.
—Do you want your father to come in with you?
