My thirteen-year-old son sold his prized electric guitar to buy a specialized wheelchair for a girl in his class… but early the next morning, two armed police officers showed up at our front door. And what they revealed left me completely paralyzed.

At 6:45 a.m., someone knocked firmly on our front door.

I hurried downstairs in my robe.

When I opened it, two uniformed police officers stood on the porch.

A patrol car was parked along the curb.

“Good morning, ma’am,” one officer said. “Are you Sarah Vance?”

“Yes.”

“I’m Officer Daniels, and this is Officer Cooper.”

My heart began racing.

“Is something wrong?”

Officer Daniels glanced at his notebook.

“We’d like to speak with you and your son, Julian.”

At that moment, Julian appeared behind me.

“Mom? Who is it?”

Then he noticed the uniforms.

His expression changed immediately.

I stepped beside him.

“Officers, what’s this about?”

Officer Daniels spoke calmly.

“Nobody is in trouble, Mrs. Vance. But something happened yesterday, and we thought you should hear about it.”

I frowned.

“Yesterday?”

“Yes. It concerns the wheelchair your son purchased.”

Julian looked worried.

“Did I do something wrong?”

Officer Cooper smiled slightly.

“No, son. But someone has been trying to find the right way to thank you.”
